Green tubes growing in the low intertidal on rock, Wallace Cove Lighthouse, NB (Featured Image above; GWS041566). Not being the typical habitat for Blidingia spp. (usually upper intertidal in our local flora), I assumed that this was just another Enteromorpha spp., and decided that a physical voucher was not necessary. Consequently, this one off genetic group is limited to sequence data and an e-voucher for a single specimen (I should know better by now). Clearly we will be returning this spring. The tufA sequence lacks a match in GenBank, and is a close sister to Blidingia minima (Nägeli ex Kützing) Kylin as assigned on these pages.
